Dallas, Texas 08/27/2014 (FINANCIALSTRENDS) – Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ:GLUU) one of the leading publishers of free-to-play games for smartphones and tablet devices, has announced that it now owns the popular Cie games, the makers of Racing Rivals as well as Car Town.
CEO of Glu, Niccolo de Masi commented, the acquisition of Cie Games costs the company $80.8 million. The acquisition was made in both cash and shares.
The plan forward, following the acquisition is to bring the product forward for the mobile format. The CEO shared that, the company would now look at Racing Rivals becoming even more popular, even as the it reworked the Car Town program for the mobile players.
Issues Restricted stock units
Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ:GLUU) has announced that the company will now issue restricted stock units which will cover, on an average 244,800 shares to the 49 newly acquired employees now on its employee rolls.
The keen factor thus far for Gluu has been the creation of large caches of original IP games, which include such games as DEER HUNTER, DEADLY SHORES, FRONTLINE COMMANDO as well as a series of other games as branded games. These include the OFFICIAL GAME as well as a range of other games which are aimed at other platforms – from the iOS devices to Android, MAC as well as Windows Phone.
Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ:GLUU) may deny arguments that the full integration of these Cie Games, proposed by experts; many fear the switch to these games could be more than seamless.
Both Google Play and App store platform integration will be the key factor for the delivery of Cie games, on the mobile format.
