About the Microcyn technology

Microcyn is essentially a solution of different oxychlorine compounds. Amongst other things, these interact with and then inactivate the surface proteins on the membrane and walls of microorganism cells. These proteins have various functions. They play a role in waste and nutrient transport, cell communication and many other functions that are required for the viability of cells.

Once Microcyn has surrounded any single-cell microorganisms, it goes ahead and damages these proteins. Eventually, the cell membrane ruptures and leads to cell death. OCLS continues to study all the exact mechanisms via which structural and protein components of membranes and bacterial cell walls and the protein shell that surrounds any virus, are affected by the Microcyn treatment.
