Centurylink Inc (NYSE:CTL) has made a significant step towards the acquisition of Level 3 Communications, Inc (NYSE:LVLT).This is in consideration of the fact that the State of New Jersey has already approved the acquisition of the mentioned company. If the state of California makes the much anticipated move to clear the acquisition, then Centurylink Inc will have succeeded in its quest to fully acquire the new company.
John F. Jones, CenturyLink’s Senior Vice President for Public Policy and Government Relations opines, “We’re pleased to announce, with the addition of New Jersey, 24 states and territories have approved or cleared CenturyLink’s acquisition of Level 3 and recognize this transaction is clearly in the public interest.”
He added that they were working closely with the various federal regulatory agencies as well as the California Public Utilities Commission. He was optimistic that they would soon succeed at securing the remaining approvals which were necessary towards the company reaching its target transaction closing date. This is expected to be by the end of the third quarter 2017.
Hopefully, the combined company will be providing customers with a more complementary and broader range of services and solutions. The growing bandwidth as well as the associated technology will move a long way towards helping the company serve the needs of its customers, including government entities, small businesses, large businesses, consumers and the large multinational enterprises.
The company’s spokesperson has revealed that the company currently has numerous plans underway that will see it make great progress toward connecting more customers to the power of the digital world.
He has also admitted that they have encountered numerous challenges in offering their wide range of services such as network and data systems management, managed security services, big data analytics, IT consulting services hosting and cloud. However, the company’s management board has in numerous instances made the right moves in countering the challenges. It is the reason Centurylink Inc has continued growing stronger by the day.
