Pfizer Incorporation (NYSE:PFE) shares decline by 5.17%


Dallas, Texas 08/05/2013 (Financialstrend) – During the last trading session, the stock of Pfizer Inc (NYSE: PFE) was traded at the price of $ 29.54. This price represented a decrease by – 5.17% from the highest price in the 52-week period which is $31.15 while showing an increase by 25.44% from the lowest price in the 52-week period which was $23.55. Pfizer Inc was planning to start off with the ex-dividend trading from 31st of July. In this trading, a payment of $ 0.24 for each share for the cash dividend has been scheduled to be paid by 4th of September during this year. This would mark that Pfizer Inc has paid the same amount of dividend during the third quarter also. The yield of dividend would be 3.25% at the current price of $ 29.54 of the stock.

At present, the earnings per share of Pfizer Inc are lying at the value of $ 2.09 which is one of the indicators for the profitability of any company. Per the forecasts done by the reports of Zacks Investment Research, the growth in the earnings that would be produced by the company will be lying as – 1.33% on comparing to the industrial average of – 3.9%.

Pfizer Inc has reported its second quarter results during last week wherein one could observe that the revenue of the company which was $ 13 billion is 7% or can be said as $ 995 million lower when compared to the second quarter 2012. Overall, one could notice that 4% decrease has come from the company’s operations while the remaining 3% has come from the foreign exchanges. The major reason for the operational decrease would be attributed by the loss of exclusivity of Lipitor during second quarter 2012 in the developed Europe. In addition to this, a major impact was caused by the generic competitors from multiple sources for Lipitor in the United States.
