Dallas, Texas 12/04/2013 (Financialstrend) – On Tuesday, Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) introduced the new IDP-15 Dry Scroll Pump. This pump features an isolated, hermetic design. It has a pumping speed of 60 Hz at 15.4 cubic meters/ hour. It provides a rapid pump-down and is perfect for use in analytical instrumentation, academic, research and industrial applications.
The IDP-15 is exceptionally vibration-free and quiet and the single-sided scroll design is what makes it very cost-effective. It needs just 1 simple annual-maintenance. This new pump replaces the popular TriScroll 300, Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A)’s earlier Dry Scroll Pump. It will also be available in a 2nd– inverter-driven pump towards the end of the year. That particular instrument will have a variable-speed operation, global voltage-compatibility and optional remote-control.
University of North Texas’ associate professor of chemistry, Dr. Guido Verbeck said that he recommends the IDP-15 very highly and it can be used with plasma and mass spectrometry instruments. Verbeck is using the IDP-15 in his high-vacuum instrument-laboratory. He added that its pump-down speed highly -exceeded their expectations, and that the base-pressure was 5 times less than the similar traditional rotary-vane pump.
