Dallas, Texas 11/20/2013 (Financialstrend) – Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) has acquired PrimeSense for an amount of $345M. This is an Israel-based maker of chips that enables 3D machine-vision. PrimeSense has raised $85M from the Israeli and United States venture-capital funds like Gemini Israel, Canaan Partners Global & Genesis Partners. The PrimeSense sensing-technology, gives digital-devices the ability to observe any scene in 3 dimension, was utilized to help power Microsoft’s Xbox-Kinect. This will be Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s 2nd purchase of an Israel-based company. In 2012 January, it had bought flash-storage chip maker.
