Dallas, Texas 05/21/2014 (FINANCIALSTRENDS) –Anyone who loves the outdoors and all kinds of sports, will be well-acquainted with Cabelas Inc (NYSE:CAB)’s stores. This company is known for its camping and fishing and hunting gear as well as its very elaborate displays. Within a fortnight the company will be opening up its new store at Woodbury. This will be the company’s 4th location in Minnesota. Construction of this store commenced in August, and it is just off the Interstate 94 at the Radio Drive. To date, customers had to drive up to Rogers or Owatonna / the East Grand Forks to find a Cabelas store.
The new location
Now, with this latest 85,000-square-foot Woodbury store people will not have to travel very far to access all the specialized gear. The company is calling this its “next-generation” store, which means that it is smaller in comparison to the larger stores it has, but there is no compromise on the products that are stocked there and the space has been used very creatively. Kraus-Anderson Construction’s Pat Mulcahey said that there is more merchandise but it is very tightly packed. There is also a lot of taxidermy in the air in order to keep the actual amount the same, but they still have a lot of merchandise.
The store
There are signature trophy-animal mounts, almost 200 of them, that are set on the shelves that are made from reclaimed barn-wood, & with a very special backdrop. The canvases are painted by an artist in a studio said the manager of Cabela’s Danny Thompson. The person then comes there and hangs them up and there are hand-painted canvases. There is also a Power Sports Center, and the company’s hallmark 2-story mountain. It also has a built-in aquarium & will very soon be stocked with various freshwater fish. There is also an indoor range for those who are involved in archery. The gun library is also a place where the high-end & collectible firearms can be found.
