Dallas, Texas 07/01/2015 (Financialstrend) – Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) foresees $19 trillion opportunity in the emerging markets with regard to Internet of things (IoT). It’s taking number of initiatives to capitalize on it.

The company’s Internet of things is a friendly system which is inter-related software that can helps the Companies and Cities set up the required infrastructure like Cameras, Switches, and setting up of Routers to manage the free flow of data in the connected equipment’s.

Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) also spoke about household appliances like coffee makers and how it can be used by companies as users are connected online and the user can control it remotely and make better use of the data collected. From business point of view internet of things refer to equipping of big machines like assembly lines and jet engines with Internet-Ready sensors for smooth and efficient operations.

The Company already introduced such products like a service for connected trains but this one is like a bunch of all those products together as a package with all the products and associated software.

The Company pooled in $250 million dollars of investment funds in order to expand the project on internet of things for businesses last year.

Many Companies’ including the Government is investing in internet of things project. As Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) is targeting internet of things, the Government is trying to upgrade the infrastructure in the cities with Internet-Connected Infrastructure. Similar way IBM (NYSE:IBM) is working on “Smarter Cities Initiatives and Oracle focusing on “Smart City Platform.” All these products show that each of Company’s Products is Proprietary and sharing of services within the same city will be difficult.

Hewlett-Packard purchased networking vendor “Aruba Networks” for $3 billion and will work on Aruba’s networking software products in order to compete with Cisco’s hardware products like routers and switches.

Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) though facing lot of competition from other major giants is still working on internet of things  to increase its sales and also gaining from sponsoring consultancy services to businesses and governments. The company got the option of making money either by selling its products or by preventing clients by using same products by providing consulting guidelines when they upgrade infrastructure.
