Citigroup sponsored an annual foreign exchange market conference held on 3 July, 2013 in London at the Imperial College Business School, for the first time.
The conference aimed particularly at addressing recent findings in the area of exchange rate returns modelling and also gave a stimulating environment for debate among market participants, academics and policy makers by bringing finance experts and academics together from both the sides of the Atlantic.
Keynote speakers were Hanno Lustig, from the University of California at Los Angeles, who addressed the Currency Trade and the Term Premium, and Charles Engel from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, who spoke on the Risk Premium, Real Interest Rates and The Real Exchange Rate.
Other speakers were Luca Sarno of the Cass Business School, Irina Zviadadze of London Business School, Michael Weber of Haas Business School, University of California at Los Angeles and Ralph Koijen of the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
The Global Head of CitiFX Services and Products, StephaneKnauf, said that the company was extremely willing to support the first of those conferences organised by the Imperial College Business School. She maintained that those conferences will contribute to a better understanding of risk in foreign exchange markets.
