Dallas, Texas 12/05/2014 (FINANCIALSTRENDS) – Con-way Inc (NYSE:CNW) subsidiary and a full-truckload carrier, Con-way Truckload’s employees recently participated in target shopping spree during the company’s 21st Annual Truckloads of Treasures holiday giving campaign. They raised more than $50,000 for benefitting local not-for-profit organizations, senior citizens and children.
More than 200 employees, their friends and family members participated to purchase holiday gifts for local children and elderly in need. In addition, the company also presented $1,500 donations to seven local charities including Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States and Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Missouri. It also donated to Children’s Haven and Area Agency on Aging. The company also arranged for a special tractor-trailer to make immediate delivery to the Salvation Army.
Truckloads of Treasures
Since inception in 1993, Truckloads of Treasures has contributed more than $0.65 million in employee-raised donations to charitable organizations. As part of this annual event, the company ties up with local organizations to offer food and holiday gifts for children and senior citizens in those areas. This year, its terminal locations across West Memphis, Taylor, Laredo and Lancaster also anchored local events.
Con-way Truckload’s executive management team and employees donated many ‘raffle’ prizes to raise funds for this event. The Con-way Charitable Foundation also matched $7,000 of employee donations.

Joseph Dagnese, President of Con-way Truckload, expressed that the company’s employees look forward to Truckloads of Treasures every year. Giving back to local communities is more like a part of Con-way culture and it is always great to see such level of involvement to make this event a success.
Annette Thurston, executive director at Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Four States, said that such contributions help us lessen the burden for children and their caretakers. Organizations like Con-way Truckload motivate and enable us to extend care and comfort for several children dealing with life-threatening diseases.
