Edge cloud platform Fastly Inc. (NYSE:FSLY) and augmented reality company NexTech AR Solutions (OTCMKTS:NEXCF) have delivered an enterprise video security innovation through a partnership. The JWT implementation with Fastly delivers token authentication to edge, thus enhancing performance and security.
JWT authentication enhances security and performance for edge computing
Fastly’s Scott Bishop indicated that they are delighted to partner with the NexTech AR inferno team to deliver the JWT verification to the edge. Scott added that the design of Fastly’s platform enables edge computing, and at this stage, the JWT authentication is exactly what the company had envisioned to be its use. He added that the computation at the edge improves InfernoAR’s performance as well as security.
While commenting on the breakthrough achievement Mark Pace, the CTO of InfernoAR, stated that the company is always seeking ways of enhancing security. Mark added that the ability to deliver authentication to edge not only enhances performance but also increases security, which is a massive win. The CTO stated that with the help of Fastly, they managed to edge compute JWT, thus ensuring the first line of defense is put as close as possible to the user.
InfernoAR to move more services to the edge
With Fastly continuing to provide additional edge computing services, Mark expects InfernoAR to have more edge features. He foresees features such as used to service iOS gadgets, playlist rewriting being moved to the edge, and thus enhancing performance. He stated that the company was looking at taking most of its basic services to the edge. Therefore, this will do away with the excess core load and add reduce latency and add reliability as the company moves services near the user.
NexTech AR CEO Evan Gappleberg noted that InfernoAR is a huge product category for the company. He added that it is the most advanced events SaaS AR Video Learning Experience and Video Conferencing Platform. Some of its features include AI, interactive video, and Augmented Reality, all in one secure platform.
