Fitbit Inc (NYSE: FIT) is a worthy alternative to Apple watch. Both can work just great with iPhone. When we compare AppleWatch with Fitbit versa on design, battery life and fitness tracking the best is pretty obvious, Fitbit standout in this dual.
Design and durability
Generally, the two watches have a great design with a selection of water faces to customize their looks. They are both resistant to water, and you can wear them in a shower or use them in a pool. However, Fitbit versa took a slight difference to apple watch. Instead of designing the same watch in different sizes with different price it just created one. Additionally, the band that comes with the apple watch is much less quality than that of Fitbit.
Battery life and durability
This is where Fitbit makes an easy win over Apple watch. With heavy use Fitbit versa model it gives you a four to five day of battery life. This is the same across all Fitbit brands and not only limited to the Versa model. On the other hand, Apple watch on average only gives you a day’s battery life.
Fitness tracking
Fitbit’s versa is a powerful fitness tracker. Unlike apple watch which requires the user to download a third-party app to process fitness data, Fitbit s versa does all that in your watch app. This gives the Fitbit model a huge advantage over Apple watch
Recently Apple announced it series four which goes for $499 for the cellular model. The model includes a sensor to detect atrial fibrillation. The feature was cleared but not wholly approved. In its clearance letter, the FDA said. “The user is not intended to interpret or take clinical action based on the device output.”
This is a disadvantage to the Apple watch users since no insurance company is likely to give reimbursement to FDA products that have not yet been approved. Just getting the approval done requires a lot of data and testing. Since Apple Watch battery life is horrible in its series 4 model, it becomes difficult for the company to collect information that may be used for approval.
