Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc (NYSE:FCX) divides its operations into 5 primary divisions: 1- North America copper mines, 2- South America mining, 3- Indonesia mining, 4- Africa mining and 5- Molybdenum operations. In 2013 May , Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc (NYSE:FCX) completed the acquisition of Plains Exploration and Production Company. In 2013 June, the company acquired the remainder 64% stake in McMoRan Exploration Co.
