They both were launched in time to catch the holiday season.

The Xbox 360 bundle includes a 250GB hard drive, Tomb Raider and Halo 4 for a discounted price if $199 which is a definite steal. Another attractive offer is the PS3 Bundle that has a 250GB hard drive, Batman: Arkham Origins and The Last of Us again for $199. Only time will tell if these deals can outdo the ones that Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE:BBY) is offering. GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME) preferred to trod a different path and did not open its doors for customers on Thanksgiving Day. It preferred to open shutters on Friday morning.
Simply Smart
The company has been doing things a little differently lately and also very recently closed its Simply Mac acquisition. Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) products are widely used in many cities across the United States and the company has a maze of authorized service centers. But the smaller cities tens to suffer on this count and these areas can definitely be a lucrative market for servicing Apple products.
Simply Mac is an Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) authorized retail-chain that operates centers that are largely located in the Mountain West region. With the Simply Mac acquisition, GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME) is focusing on bringing the excellence of an Apple Store experience to the smaller cities that are scattered across the U.S.
Building synergies
This particular acquisition will definitely be a value-add for both the companies in many different ways. Very recently, GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME) executives said that the fact that the Simply Mac stores are located near existing GameStop locations will help them leverage the latter’s real-estate expertise. They will also be able to utilize the company’s PowerUp Rewards which will go a long way in adding to the profitability of both the companies.
Apart from this, GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME) also acquired Spring Wireless recently which will give it a boost into the wireless and mobile phones space. Now, this holds even more relevance with the Simply Mac acquisition.
