GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) has introduced a tiny video camera the GoPro Hero4 Session. It is 1.5-inch cube. It weighs just 2.6 ounces. It boasts a wide angle lens. It is protected with the ruggedized design. One can fit this tiny camera at a fishing rod end or in between the spikes of a bike.
Availability
It will be readily available for purchase from July 12, 2015. It is so simple and small. One can hold this tiny camera in between their teeth to document the movements of a toddler. It comes with two buttons. It has come with a WiFi feature to facilitate uploading the scenes to a cloud. One can use the small second button to establish the connection with a phone to preview and shoot the images.
Battery Storage
Once charged for one and half hour through a USB port, the battery lasts for 2 hours of HDR recording. The camera is very simple that it lacks most of the controls. It has no screen to preview the scene and shot. It has just two buttons for powering ON and shooting the scene. The battery is inbuilt and no one can remove it. It has a red LED indication to indicate working.
One cannot identify the direction being so small and equal on all sides. The plus point is that it has a sensor to sense the orientation and flip the video in 180o increments. It has no control to flip the video in increments of 90o. Therefore, one has to try and practice shooting before using for the actual shooting.
Most of the people have a phone with a camera. One would ask why I need a separate camera when I already have a Smartphone with a better quality camera. You cannot fix the phone everywhere to record real-time videos. You can fix the Hero4 Session at any place because of its small size. You can easily keep it in a small cocktail glass or on a skateboard.
The users can buy a strap for S$60. Gopro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) commands a market share of 70% in the video camera segment of the U.S.
