Juniper Networks 2nd-Quarter Profit Surges; Chief Executive to Retire
Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE:JNPR) announced that its Chief Executive Kevin Johnson will retire soon. In addition, the network gear firm also announced that its profit for the 2nd quarterly period increased by 70 percent due to positive revenue.
Mr. Kevin Johnson, a 16-year Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) expert who became part of Juniper as chief executive in the year 2008, will leave the company once a replacement is found. The firm appointed Heidrick and Struggles, an administrative recruiting company, to aid a search group in finding a replacement. Shares declined 1.8 percent after hours to hit $20.98 and have gained 23 percent in the last three months through the close.
“We carry on seeing signals of potency in our major markets and we are sure in our routing and switching range,” Mr. Johnson added. “We are also witnessing early signals of bettering security demand.”
Juniper Networks, Inc. registered a profit of $97.9 million and its revenue went up by 7.2 percent to $1.15 billion.
