Dallas, Texas 03/27/2014 (FINANCIALSTRENDS) – American Superconductor Corporation (NASDAQ:AMSC) is slated to shut down its Middleton plant by 31 Dec and transfer all those operations to the company’s headquarters located in Devens, Mass. It declined to disclose the exact number of the Middleton employees who will be affected but it said that they will now be offered positions in Devens. This plant, located at 8401 Murphy Drive makes a voltage-regulation & control device to be used on the electric- transmission grid. This announcement is unfortunate said the Middleton city administrator, Mike Davis. They have been a very sound employer in Middleton for as long as he can remember, he said.
