Dallas, Texas 07/22/2015 (Financialstrend) – Concerned by the way it has been losing customers to rivals, McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) is considering offering breakfasts all day long in its US restaurants. The program could start as early as October according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. The fast food chain has reportedly been testing the model since March and is believed to have been encouraged by the results.

Customers Calls for All Day Long Breakfast

The company has already added food preparation space in some restaurants in San Diego as it moves to accommodate the idea of preparing breakfast throughout the day. The development indicates a change of heart having indicated in the past that serving breakfast throughout the day would be difficult to implement especially on adding numerous menu items over the years.

The spokeswoman, Lisa McComb has already confirmed that they have been offering breakfast all day long in some stores as part of a study. However, she did not give a confirmation of whether other markets are on course to initiate the new changes.  Customers have piled pressure on McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) for some time with a view of being allowed to take McMuffins and pancake beyond 10:30 a.m.

A memo has reportedly been circulated to franchises advising them to be ready to start serving breakfast all day long.  Should the company overcome the complexity issues and go on with the all-day breakfast service, and then sales should receive a major uplift going forward.

 Newly Proposed Changes

McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) has also been forced to consider changing the way it operates as the likes of Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE:CMG) and Burrito Chain mount pressure on its market share. As part of newly proposed changes, the company has been testing new ideas such as custom burgers and a shift to healthier options such as the use of breakfast bowls made with Kale and Spinach.

Chief executive officer Steve Easterbrook is the mastermind behind the ongoing changes in the company having already announced plans to eradicate antibiotics from chicken. There are also plans to introduce drive-through menu and premium sandwiches
