Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is readying the launch pad for unveiling Windows 10 as proposed on July 29, worldwide. The Windows 10 has undergone rigorous testing by the Windows insiders in countries such as Singapore, Beijing, Dubai, New Delhi, Madrid, Tokyo, Sydney, Berlin, Nairobi, Sao Paolo, London, Johannesburg, New York, and Berlin.
The new Windows OS is being launched worldwide amid much fanfare and TV advertising. Windows 10 is more secure, fast, and automatically updates. Its other features include Microsoft Edge, Cortana, and Xbox. It allows people to perform a lot of great things.
The company is readying thirteen parties to provide experimental demos, hands-on opportunities and entertainment apart from an opportunity for meeting the windows team. Microsoft will reward the testers with the free final version of Windows 10.
Microsoft is also involving its own 110 stores in Puerto Rico, Canada and the U.S. to give away prizes as part of its celebrations. Experience stations are also established at the retailers to offer hands on experience for the visitors. It will also help them to learn how to upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1.
It has roped in retailers like Incredible Connection, Currys/PC World, Croma, Media Markt, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT), Bic Camera Inc., Staples, Jarrir etc to help the users with easy upgrade process.
The company will also enter into an alliance with hundred national nonprofits and 10 international nonprofits to help the upgrade initiative. It will spend $10 million to support the cause.
According to a blog post of the Corporate Vice President, Yusuf Mehdi, Windows 10 has been developed using feedback from over 5 million insiders. It is unique. It is also being offered as a free upgrade to windows 7 and windows 8.1 users apart from as a service.
Almost 50% of the computers worldwide still use the most popular version windows 7. Therefore, it is giving opportunity for the users using licensed versions of Windows 8, 7 and 8.1 to freely upgrade to the latest OS.
