Dallas, Texas 06/08/2015 (Financialstrend) – Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is moving with speed to address the growing demand for its cloud services in Canada. The company has announced plans to open two new Azure data centers in the country. The two data centers are to be built in Toronto and Quebec and should be up and running by 2016.

 Addressing Privacy Concerns

The move to open the new data centers will reduce the country’s reliance on data centers in the US. Security concerns have always been a nagging issue forcing most of the security-conscious firms to rely on data centers in the US. Perceived to be ultra-high secure. Privacy and security concerns should be a thing of the past once the two data centers become operational, affirms Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT).

In the wake of Edward Snowden’s revelation, many companies in Canada have been reluctant to store their data in offshore data centers. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will be looking to target most of these firms with this two facilities.

Data privacy concerns is a big issue at the moment as more people remain concerned about the level of snooping by the US government. The opening up of the new Azure data centers should help instill some confidence on the level of security and privacy accorded to data.

Growing Demand For Azure Services

Expansion in Canada comes as Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) continues to experience tremendous demand for Azure and Office 365. The two data centers should have a huge impact on the cloud landscape in Canada. An area that continues to experience huge growth although it still lags other marketplaces.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Azure features an enterprise-grade storage service that should be of great benefit to businesses in the country as well as government departments. The platform continues to grow in popularity thanks to its array of services as well as the level of privacy and security on offer.
