Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has associated with Net Insight for use with former`s Unified Delivery Network, a content distribution facility. The Sye offering from Net Insight, a major provider of live streaming, resource scheduling and media transport is specifically intended to tone the viewing experience. As a result, audiences can engage on social media without the peril of finding out what occurred on someone else`s screen before it materializes on theirs.
The details
Through the collaboration, Sye will be combined in Ericsson`s UDN offering. The integrated solution will lead in a superior, highly efficient, international content distribution service. Ericsson`s UDN is an international content delivery platform that supports collaboration between service and content providers to advance turnkey, value-added services. This is better than conventional content delivery networks as it utilizes infrastructure inside service provider systems, distributing content far nearer to end users for a top viewing experience.
Marcus Bergström, the GM, UDN, Ericsson, expressed that by resolving the synching and latency issues, service and content providers can now advance an immersive live streaming experience. The UDN permits content providers to further leverage and monetize their content in totally innovative ways while starting it up for service providers to partake in the OTT value chain.
Per Lindgren, the SVP, Live OTT, Net Insight, expressed that live events and particularly live sports events generate the most funds in broadcasting. However, the requirement to adapt to each customer`s connection speed has turned it tough for the operators of OTT services to entirely capitalize on these.
By coupling their technology with Ericsson`s international network of UDN associations, they are well equipped to face this challenge. Ericsson is a renowned, international leader in media and TV services and products, with an established track record in delivering media and TV business transformation for more than 25 years.
