Dallas, Texas 01/27/2014 (Financialstrend) – Rentech, Inc (NASDAQ:RTK) is making the positive moves in the year, with the inclusion of a nominee from the shareholder group to the Board. The shareholder groups composed of one of the largest shareholder’s along with Engaged Capital and Lone Star Value Management have now nominated candidates for selection to the board. The elections are to be held during the annual meeting.

The shareholders have indicated their frustration over what they feel is the fall in shareholder values. The group also feels that the board’s continued oversight as well errors have resulted in loss of confidence with the group. As the group feels that they need better board members they have nominated four candidates for fair and rightful representation.

Previous in October, Rentech Inc had come in for much flak, over the issue of cash distribution. Rentechn Inc had to revise its cash distribution to the zero-mark for the fourth quarter distributions, lower expectations further than the third quarter’s distribution. Rentech has been struggling with the fall in ammonium sulfate prices. Besides a difficult liquidity situation in the market too has resulted in the company continuing in this position longer than expected. Fourth quarter guidance has indicated that the East Dubuque facility will cease to be an advantage as the company has reported higher costs of operations, while sales have dropped as well. The facility also reported compressor-related repairs.
Rentech, Inc(NASDAQ:RTK) is a $430.95 million market capital company with volume trade of 2.212,483. The company currently trades on the stock market at $.190 per share which is much lesser than the 52 week high of the stock at the $22.2 mark, while the 52 week low is about $1.55. The EPS is 0.03 and PE is 60.40.
