SiriusXM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI) has announced the acquisition of podcast management solution, Simplecast. The platform allows publishing, management, and measuring content by podcasters.
Combination of platforms to allow podcasters to generate revenue
The pairing of the Simplecast solution and SiriusXM’s adtech subsidiary, AdsWizz will enable the creation of an end to end solution that will allow podcasters to publish as well as earn revenue from podcasts all in one platform. Brad Smith, the CEO and Founder of the Simplecast, leads the platform that offers Movable Audio Engine (MAE) a dynamic audio toolset, audience analytics, and content management.
The platform has attracted some of the world’s leading and respected publishers and brands. Some of the clients include Netflix, Cloud 10, Maximum Fun, QCODE, Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Blue Wire, Revision Path, and Anna Faris is Unqualified. Many creators employ the Simplecast platform ranging from independent niche podcasters to enterprise levels and network publishers.
The acquisition expands SiriusXM and Pandora’s monetization services for podcasters
Following the completion of the acquisition deal, AdsWizz and Simplecast will form publisher solutions business for SiriusXM. The solution will cater to all the needs of podcasters. The transaction enhances and expands monetization tools and services of SiriusXM and Pandora for publishers and podcasters. SiriusXM has been offering podcasters and networks leading adtech solutions through AdsWizz that range from new programming podcasting solutions to dynamic ad serving and insertion as well as PodWave, the AdsWizz podcast marketplace.
Most importantly, podcasters can submit podcasts seamlessly through Pandora for Podcasters to reach millions of Pandora users. Equally, they will get access to important audience insights and data analytics tools.
