Groupon Inc (NASDAQ:GRPN), which recently introduced Groupon+ voucherless, cash-back restaurant offers perfect for daters, asked as many as 2,000 U.S. adults view on the latest dating trends, including the best time to make a move, bad date horror stories, ideal first date ideas, best time to approach after a date, what it takes to seek relationship success and when is the appropriate time to begin a relationship.

According to the data, the three-date rule is turning a thing of the past with most adults waiting an average of eight meetings before they opt for sex, with women waiting nine dates as against five for men. While males were nine times likely to be ok with having sex on the first date, just 8% of women and 30% of men consider sex should happen inside the initial three dates.

Guido Torrini, the GM and VP, Groupon+, reported that whether a person is in a relationship or single, fall marks as a great time for people to look out on dates and take their relation to the next level. People looking for a relationship to take their time to plan different dates and establish a connection, which is why selecting the right type of activity is a significant consideration in the date planning procedure.

Dinner at a restaurant was the remarkable choice for a perfect first date activity. Next was movie plan, going for a drink at a bar, getting coffee or planning for the outdoors. 33% of people admitted to pregaming with one or more alcoholic beverages to calm the nerves before a date. Almost 80% of people would utilize a discount on a date, and nearly half of those who expressed no would change their view if they could do so modestly. After a date, people usually wait three days before calling or texting the other person.
