Dallas, Texas 03/10/2014 (FINANCIALSTRENDS) – United Microelectronics Corp (ADR) (NYSE:UMC), the Taiwan based semiconductor equipment and materials manufacturer reported its sales numbers for the month of 2014. These figures are unaudited and represent an 18 percent increase in sales for the month in comparison to February 2013. Total sales came in at New Taiwan Dollars 10.3 million for the month, as against the New Taiwan Dollars 8.7 million which it had generated in February of 2013. For the combined period of January and February, sales came in at New Taiwan Dollars 20.4 million which represents a 12.2 percent increase over the same period in 2012.
The surge in sales is being driven by the collaborative approach the semi-conductor equipment manufacturer has taken with other market leaders like Synopsys and Realtek to bring out the industry topping “Single-Chip Ultra High Definition” Smart TV in the recent past. The chip maker Realtek has succeeded in bringing out a unique chip which seamlessly integrates with the “DesignWare Logic Libraries” which are part of the United Microelectronics Corp (ADR) (NYSE:UMC) manufactuered 40 nanometer process. The “System on Chip” that the Tiwan based firm has manufactured enables the working of the entire components in easy traction with each other using its low cost and energy efficient chips.
