In 2010 September, the company purchased the 51% interest in the Sociedade de Desenvolvimento do Corredor-Norte S.A. In 2010 April, Vale SA (ADR) (NYSE:VALE) bought a 51% stake on iron-ore concession rights situated in Simandou South , Guinea, as well as iron-ore exploration permits in the Simandou North region.
