Dallas, Texas 07/13/2015 (Financialstrend) – Steve Aliferis is to spearhead VeriFone Systems Inc (NYSE:PAY) operations in China after being appointed as the president of Asia Pacific operations. As part of the new appointments Arthur Jiang is to oversee the company’s operations in China, a segment established recently as a separate region. He will be reporting to CEO Paul Galant.
Jiang has worked at PAX Technologies as a member of the board as well as its CEO. Aliferis, on the other hand, has held executive management positions with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
The two join VeriFone Systems Inc (NYSE:PAY) vast experience on payment systems. CEO, Paul Galant believes their experience should be sufficient in running operations in Asia Pacific having already demonstrated ability to grow successful client franchises
Galant expects them to spearheads efforts geared towards making VeriFone better and nimble in the region. They are also expected to provide the much-needed leadership needed to accelerate investment in the highly critical marketplace.
Aliferis is to spearhead VeriFone Systems Inc (NYSE:PAY) efforts in the area having accrued more than 20 years of experience in the payment and banking industries. He is to join the company on August 3 and run his operations from the company’s Singapore office
VeriFone-WestPac POS Deal
Jiang, on the other hand, has already taken his role in the company operating from the company’s Beijing office. He joins the company with more than 20 years of experience in growing businesses in China’s patent industry.
Separately VeriFone Systems Inc (NYSE:PAY) recently signed a four-year deal with Westpac for the deployment of 100,000 VX 690 point of sales payment terminals. VeriFone is to provide terminal management support for the devices in use through its cloud-based payment platform. Bank of Melbourne and Bank SA are to be the first bank in the Asia Pacific region to use the new terminals.
