Dallas, Texas 08/30/2013 (Financialstrend) – The Vmware recently launched Vmware NSX which is its network utilization platform via its Nicira Purchase. Also the Vmware telegraphed as to what are its plans and aspirations towards surrounding the Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) in the data center.
The NSX is aiming at virtualizing networking and also to be a cog in Vmware’s vision of a software defined data center.
By purchasing Nicria, Vmware is anticipating to virtualize networking in a similar manner as did servers. The Vmware NSX will be available in the fourth quarter and will be launched with 20 partners.
In spite of uninspiring fourth quarter figures Cisco still holds a ‘Buy’ rating. The company still warrants a place in growth portfolios.
The company has announced that it will soon be sacking 5% of its workforce which is equal to about 4000 employees in order to cope with increasing market challenges
The CEO John Chambers has said that the improvement in product lines from countries like China or other Asian countries is not at the pace that they desire.
