This new Smart TV SoC is now the industry’s 1st single- implementation with the support for its “4K2K” Ultra HD video format.
Realtek has used Synopsys’ DesignWare Embedded Memories & Logic Libraries, the Galaxy Implementation Platform & its Professional Services to help them in meeting their aggressive- performance, power &schedule goals. Their RTD2995 smart-TV controller was the 1st comprehensive single-chip-solution in mass-production, in the industry.
It very effectively combines 4K2K video-decoding &1080p encoding with the powerful multi- core-ARM microprocessor & the high-performance multi-core 3D-GPU to deliver very high- res images for life-like image-clarity, said VP & spokesman for Realtek, Jessy Chen. In collaborating with Synopsys and UMC they were able to take advantage of the total-solution which includes the silicon, logic library & embedded-memory IP, EDA-tools & experienced design-consultants that helped them bring their chip to market in the record time.
